Donnelly's

I am still in shock...The owners of my favorite jewelry store were murdered 2 days ago. Since when did murders happen in Fairfield? These people, Tim & Kim Donnelly, were seriously the nicest people you could ever meet. I remember in middle school, my friends and I used to walk from Tomlinson to go downtown...it was the "cool" thing to do. Donnellys was my favorite place to go.
I still have a claddagh ring that a friend bought for me from there in 7th grade, I wore it until it broke. This happened when I was living in Baltimore, at Loyola, so I had it fixed there. Unfortunately, they somehow lost the pink quartz stone and replaced it with a hideously ugly purple bubble. A while back, I went in to Donnellys and Tim was going to fix it for me. That was the last time I saw him.
Why would someone do this? This jerk must have known that it was probably the only jewelry store in town that didn't have any sort of security system...but I just don't know why he couldn't have broken in when no one was there, or even just demanded all of their jewelry. But no, the psycho had to kill them...and he didn't even take anything!
When this kind of thing happens, it really conflicts my beliefs. I want this asshole to suffer. I don't believe in the death penalty, however when something like this happens, I have a hard time not wishing that this guy will fry.

Kim- I just happened to read your thing on Donnelly's and it brought back so much. I too was shocked by this horrendous event. Who would have ever thought that here in Fairfield there would be a murder let alone downtown at our favorite jewlery store. I still have the ring you got for me there in middle school - it is gold. The last time I had been in there was to pick up a pair of earrings Tim had reset for me. What wonderful people they were. I was actually going to go to him to help me find a wedding band for my fiance (yes, I am getting married which is a story for another time - email me at amandarafsky@hotmail.com to here). Anyway, the whole Donnelly's thing has definitely had an impact.
